Hot Dip Galvanized Ring Shank Roofing Nail

Hot Dip Galvanized Roofing Nail / Ring Shank Roofing Nail / Galvanized Ring Shank Roofing Nail

Ring shank nails, also called annular ring nails, are nails with a ring on the shank for an additional 40% more holding power than a nail with a smooth shank. Ring shank nails are similar to screw nails, the only difference being the flat head. With a ring shank design, the hot dip galvanized ring shank roofing nails provide a tight grip and additional resistance to popping out of the wood. They have proven to be an ideal solution for working with soft wood, as the nails are difficult to remove without damaging the wood as wood fibers settle into the space between rings and form a strong bond as the nails are driven into the wood.

Ring shank roofing nails are widely used for permanent construction fastening, such as plywood, underlay wood, paneling, clapboards, drywall, roofing, floors and exterior trim. For more information, please see the charts below.

Production Process
1. Wire is drawn from a coil and fed into the nail making machine. The subsequent deformed wire will form the head and point, then the nail is cut free from the rest of the wire fed from the roll. Nails with helical twists, serrations, or other surface configurations will be sent into another machine to be rolled, twisted, stamped, or cut into the required form.
2. The nails are then cleaned in a rotating barrel filled with hot caustic soda. This removes any oil from the forming machine and cleans away any small metal scraps that may cling to the nails. Finally, the nails are given a final bright finish before packaging.
3. Magnetic elevators convey the finished nails to the weighing machines, where they will then be drop ped into open cardboard boxes. As the roofing nails are drop ped in, a magnetic field aligns them so they stack in neat rows.
